Franchising

Anna will be sharing valuable information aimed at people wanting to start up a franchise or convert their existing business to a franchise.  In this part of her presentation Anna will be discussing the criteria the business must meet before it is ready to operate a franchise.  Anna will briefly outline the different legal documents required to operate a franchise system, as well as briefly outlining the legal obligations imposed on franchisors.

In the second part of her presentation Anna will discuss the process for becoming a franchisee, including questions that prospective franchisees should ask of franchisors and common problems for franchisees in their franchise agreements and how these problems can be resolved.

Anna Trist has acted for a number of well-known Australian and international companies. She has worked closely with franchisors, master franchisees and franchisees of over 150 different franchise systems.  Anna’s experience in the different levels of franchising has enabled her to understand it from the point of view of all parties and to provide sensible and practical commercial advice.  She has often presented on legal issues in franchising and general business transactions and has written numerous articles on the topic. Anna is a regular attendee at both the Franchise Council of Australia and other events in the franchising sector.
